I am a 24 year old native English speaker from Australia with six years of experience in the not-for-profit sector specialising in community engagement and early childhood education. Combined with my six years of experience in sustainable community development, I have been provided with empathetic and compassionate interpersonal skills, as well as an ability to effectively listen and communicate with people of all ages, nationalities and cultures.
I graduated from the University of Sydney, Australia in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours Class 1) and am currently a Master's student at the University of Bologna, Italy, studying Global Change Ecology and Sustainable Development. As a native english speaker moving to a city with a diverse range of foreign languages I was required to both learn and teach languages, with daily interactions requiring me to change my speech patterns and communication style in order to be better understood and to communicate effectively.
Further, my experience includes my work as Leader of International Programs at Educating The Future, a youth-run, Australian Government-accredited organisation operating in Timor-Leste since 2015. This has given me further experience interacting and forming connections with people that have minimal to no english skills.
I believe my youth, personality, and experiences around the world with different languages would make me ideal for your situation.
Yours Sincerely,
Tyler von der Heyden
