A new company that specializes in organizing C-level conferences for specific industry verticals is looking for a top-notch coder to help engineer two important functions for its website.
First for those participating in the conference. Attendees (who come free, speak, etc., all C-Level folks. Vendors with business solutions who pay. And sponsors. These folks need to log in and provide a wealth of information that we need to capture with reporting functionality and so forth. Nothing too difficult, but lots of data. More important is a matchmaking function, which we want to keep simple for now. Vendors who pay are guaranteed time with a given number of these C-level decision makers. Need to select and rank these folks. And the attendees need to say Yes, Maybe, or No. They have to meet with the high-quality vendors, but in some cases it will make no sense if they have a business solution already. Then the matchmaking begins, combined together with other factors like conference sessions and other blocked-off time (for golf or whatever etc. Rooms, and so forth. All of this will also be checked manually. This is the simple matchmaking functionality. We have a lot more in mind for Version 2.0 as we learn more, and the expert who works with us on this will certainly have the opportunity to work with us again if things go well. Also, this will have to account for dependent variables (for example, their rankings, whether they are accepted, denied, how we manually manipulate things) that will constantly be shifting until the deadline by which we will cut off a participant's ability to change things. Then we form an itinerary.
The second functionality is our own ADMINISTRATOR DASHBOARD where we can control all of these things, as there will be lots of manipulation. I don't think this will be particularly complicated.
I have written a 17-page functional spec sheet replete with dashboard drawings and so forth which I can share with you at the appropriate time. I'm a lawyer, so it's not perfect, but I've tried to anticipate lots of questions and it's pretty detailed.
I very much look forward to hearing from you,
Best wishes,
Ben Kerschberg
## Deliverables
I will provide formal requirements that I've written up -- 17 pages -- after we discuss this in person to see if we might have a match.
Thank you very much for considering this and for contacting me.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Ben Kerschberg
