We have a 2-3 month freelance contract for a WordPress developer, with the opportunity for ongoing work into the future. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years' experience, who knows WordPress inside out and enjoys pushing it to its limits. The person would have proven experience creating and modifying themes, templates and plugins, with advanced knowledge of creating custom posts, custom fields and short codes to enable multiple page templates sharing data and functions across the system.
The WordPress parts of the site will co-exist with data which is drawn from a separate db via a custom-made app. The custom and WordPress sections are largely separate, but share a common nav, and also share certain data elements via widgets. The custom areas are already in development with our Project Lead, and we are looking for someone to work with him to create and take responsibility for the WordPress areas, and to share the task of integrating the two. Therefore a good knowledge of PHP will be essential.
You will be someone who enjoys collaborating and working as part of a team, likes the challenge of taking WordPress to its ultimate capabilities, and has a creative approach to solving problems.
