Product Testing Needed

About us: We're a software startup with a product that helps to improve the performance, reliability, and management of PCs. Our need: • We are looking for an experienced tester that can help improve the quality of our product. Our goal is to be able to identify common issues are users are running into when using our software. • If you are a knowledgeable, proactive, fast-paced individual, with similar experience, in an IT industry, submit a proposal. • We need to be able to identify issues ahead of our customers so we can fix them and increase customer experience. • Many of our users are running into compatibility issues with other software, so we need to test against a variety of different software/hardware configurations. Required Skills: - Experience testing PC system and utility software. - Proven work experience in software quality assurance - Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes. - You have access to a variety of different software/hardware configurations and the most common apps used on Windows to test with our software - Knowledge of Windows systems and ability to test on multiple platforms (32/64-bit Win7, Win8.1, Win10) - You are able to perform a variety of tests and produce good test reports You are: - Analytical, highly proactive, productive, and data-driven - Fluent in English (we are US based company, and the customers are English speaking) - Well organized, critical thinker - Being able to work remotely and independently: responsive and a good communicator Responsibilities: - Create a test plan that focuses on compatibility issues based on customer input (primarily our uninstall survey) - Setup and execute the test plan on the different environments - Identify, record and document thoroughly any bugs or product malfunctions including collecting logs, dumps, and repro steps - Investigate causes of defects that occur during the testing phase (is it an environment or product issue) - Identify possible customer usability and satisfaction issues - Provide timely progress reports Project Type: Project based Please note: - All applications received outside of this job board will be automatically disqualified. - Incomplete application will not be considered. - Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
