I can extract images from SQL server in 3 different methods, each with pros and cons. .Net and SSIS are my preferred methods. If the table structure has a field for image type describing the data type of the file (jpg, bmp or pdf), that helps me save the file with the right extensions. I also have a method via Access and VBA to extract images from SQL server.
