I'm looking to build a simple screen scraper to capture the brand, item name, description, price, sizes and image. The brand, item name, description, price, and sizes should be written to a CSV file, one item per line. The images should be stored locally and MUST have an ID that matches the item ID.
The output should look something like this:
0001, Gucci, GG T-Strap Sandal, Antiqued double-G hardware—which is based on a '70s archival design—boldly brands the wide instep strap of this leather thong sandal., $520.00, 4US, 5US, 6US, 6.5US, 7US
You can see that the last 5 values are all sizes. It doesn't matter how many sizes there are. As long as the values are in the correct order, I will assume all values AFTER the price are sizes.
I need the ability to configure this tool to work for any site. For example, look at [login to view URL] and Jcrew.com. You'll see that obviously they are different, but, we need to be able to scrape and parse the HTML for items on every page. I don't want to require a code change for every new site we scrape.
Preferably written in Python or Perl, or even a shell script. I'll be executing this from a command-line on my Mac. No user interface.

I can create a scraper that will work on similar sites, however, certain attributes must be different for each site. For example, the elements on each web page are different. I can help you create something that works on similar sites with just configuration files needed for each site. However I can't guarantee that it will run 100% perfect on ALL sites, because some sites are coded completely different than others. On most usual PHP/WordPress websites the scraper will most probably work.
As part of this project, I can make the scraper work 100% on both the sites you have mentioned AND keep it flexible enough to be able to add a new configuration file when you want to scrape a new site. More than that is technically not possible.
I will create it in Python without any GUI and you can run it on your console and see progress in it as well. The CSV generated will be exactly as you need it and the image IDs will also match the image IDs in the CSVs.
