XML creation tool for a Website

Our Client is a MidSized company supplying a call centre telephone survey service to world-wide companies and have a web-based site available to our clients. Although the service has existed for 4 or 5 years and is in version 5, we are making significant improvements to the features available and this project is part of “Phase 6 – The Portal”. As before, this “portal” allows our clients to; • Create surveys • Upload recordings • Set rules and alerts • View reports • Manage HR The existing site was mainly developed by us in-house and we need a better user interface for our clients. The current system was developed using MySQL and php and the planned changes will make use of web services and stored procedures. Although this is a single project, there are many more following this and we are looking for a partner to work with us on an ongoing basis, in the development of the Portal web user interface. Data will be delivered via a web services app, to which you would make a request and receive results in xml format. All data will be accessed using stored procedures. These will however not be callable directly from the web application and must be accessed using web services (SOAP). We need a way of creating XML (example and description below) in place of the functionality we already have. The current functionality was a test exercise and is a) incomplete and b) writes to apps_nodes table as an intermediate table. Ideally we want is a graphical interface (or at least a better way of doing it than is already in the code) in our web page which allows the flow of a page to be seen and that will write the xml directly to the apps_surveydefinitions table. Any db access should be done as stored procedures.
