Second Life Client Performance Monitor

The Buyer for this Application is Linden Lab. This project involves the development of a performance monitoring application which will run the Second Life Client and obtain timing for a set of pre-defined tasks every few minutes ( e.g. log-in to SL, add an attachment, teleport to a busy simulator, rez an object, return an object to inventory, etc..). The program must collect timing data for each action performed (i.e. how long it took to complete the action in milliseconds) and record this information in a mysql database. The monitoring application must be designed so that additional actions can be added (and existing action scripts can be modified) easily without requiring complex programming. It must also support scripting of actions that pull some data from a mysql db table (e.g. the name of the region that the test system uses for the teleport timing test should be read from a table). The design of the mysql schema used for recording the results of timing test must be agreed-upon between programmer and client. The system design must support the ability to run monitoring from more than one PC at the same time (i.e. only one monitor will run one PC but other instances of the monitor may be running and recording data simultaneously from other PCs). The application will need to start-up every 3-5 minutes and repeat the specified set of actions recording the timing results for each action. The application must not crash is Second Life is not available, it should simply record this fact in a table and re-try again after a pre-specified wait period. Please specify the commited deadline in your bid if it is longer than 30 days. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). 3) The bidder must specify what specific technology will be used to implement this application.
