VOIP application port

I require the light weight open source? VOIP application 'mumble' edited for my particular needs. <[login to view URL]> Mumble is written in c++ ## Deliverables Any interested coder should have strong **C++, linux and VOIP** experience. Mumble is a client server application. The server part is called Mumur and they both run as seperate applications. They are written in C++ and can be compiled for the PC, Mac and Linux. The software is mainly used for online gamers to communicate in game but can be used for anything really. **Please read the mumble FAQ /? view the source code? before asking questions or bidding on this project! **<[login to view URL]> I want to run the software on the Linux operating system OpenWRT on embedded hardware and I will only need a small feature set of the already light weight application. Imagine the scenario where I have two embedded devices each running OpenWRT and both are connected to the internet... **Requirements -** * The client and server applications will be installed on each device. They should be merged into one application. * The mumur server currently provides capability for many people to communicate together. I only require that two people are connected to eachother. * As this will not be used in gaming I do not requre the positional sound feature. * I do not require the text to speech feature. * I do not require any graphical user interface. * The mumble software currenly has a setup wizard to configure audio compression, volumn etc. As I am using embedded hardware this feature is not required because any hardware will be known in advance and can be preconfigured. * The software should be capable of accepting the ip address of another device and then initiating a connection with it. I will ensure the audio hardware has the correct drivers required installed? with openWRT. How will I test? 2) Testing on the embedded device is not neccessarily a concern initially. I am confident about how little cpu and? RAM mumble uses. As long as the application? can run on my laptop (which has openWRT installed) I will be content. Processor speed? 3) Again at this point you need not worry. The processor is well enough equipped. However in saying that, the aim is have an extremely light weight application. Network speed? 4) The device network connection? speed can handle much more than is required for this project so again you need not worry. I think a good starting point is to merge the mumble/murmur application and begin? removing software features not required. Again I will state that when the winning coder is finished, as long as I can see the application? working on my laptop I will be content. **More questions and answers -** Why use mumble,? you just need software that connects two people for chat? ? some reasons why I? want to? use? Mumble... - It is already used and accepted by a huge audience. **Tried and tested voice streaming quality** accepted by the masses. - It is very lightweight which is a requirement for my device. - It runs on Linux - It is written in c++ which is a hardware requirement - It contains some useful features that I may wish to add at a later date. This will be relatively easily done if the application is based on Mumble.
