Below is the specication written by a tech person to create a way to use our local content accelerator to track our employee's website usage - The BIG picture goal of this project. Since this specification was written, the tech who wrote this no longer works for the company. We do have tech help with moderate Linux experience. You will be responsible for helping us implement your solution on our box running Gentoo. You may re-appraise the problem (tracking employee usage of the web) using SQUID and suggest another solution if you believe the speced solution is not the best solution. Your solutions will be evaluated by a Non-Linux, only Semi-Geek person. PLEASE explain what you propose to do in the simplest possible language. Thanks. Original Spec: Create a automated mailing script that will parse through squid logs and email a report (using sendmail 8.13.4/8.13.4) containing the previous day’s usage. These usage reports are all ready automatically generated by SARG (Squid Analysis Report Generator) these are already HTML encoded. This email should be HTML format, and should look like the JPEGS (see attached .zip). The links should be clickable through the email, therefore you will be required to modify the Current(see .zip) source of “SARG?? source code (GNU Licensed ) When the user clicks, for example “[login to view URL]? it should pull up a screen in a web browser, with that Specific (ip/hostname’s) traffic (see [login to view URL]). This script should be able to be run daily or M-F (allow options to specify days of week to run). This job should allow it to be run from either the command line or via cronjob. The directory structure of these reports that are created daily (please see [login to view URL] in attached .zip). This picture will show you the directory in which the reports are generated. And in [login to view URL], you will see what the daily generated directory structure looks like. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
