This is problem that you cant connect to mysql via user admin. It's simple credentials problem. Do you have ssh access or any other type of access to server. Where is server hosted ?

Over 18 years experience in IT. Over 15 years experience as System Administrator of servers providing Internet facing services. Your problem appears to be in the authentication of the admin users logging into the database server (MySQL). There are a few problems that cause this kind of authentication error. The user admin may not be allowed to login to the MySQL server from localhost, or at all. The other likely problem area is the PHP application might not be configured with the proper password for the admin user. First thing I would do is verify connectivity to the database server as the user admin. If that fails I would login to the database server via a superuser account and check the settings for the admin user. Once connectivity is established with the admin users from localhost, I would move on to the PHP application. Verifying the user settings for the application would be next. These steps should troubleshoot and show where the problem is coming from. Estimated time to complete is about 2 hours, though cost is still the same if time goes over 2 hours.
