add features to a prototype android app

I have an android proto-app where gps is used in order to draw polylines of the path of the user on google maps. until this point it is working fine, however I need to add the following functionalities to the prototype. 1 - Continue to collect gps data even when the app is background and when the app gets back to foreground, add the missing polyline points(the points collected while in background) 2 - Use the ActivityRecognition API(Both in foreground and background) in order to recognize the activity of the user while using the app and display it to the user. (e.g. walking, running, still etc...) I'll provide the code (which is for Android Studio). I have a very limited budget for this projects, so High bids will be disregarded. That's all.
