I have worked for Cisco systems in the area of field testing for carrier grade voice. This was mainly around the PGW2200 soft switch but I remember well how to deal with access gateways doing H323 and SIP. Work setup would be to gain remote access to the device and enable the debug logs to figure out whats going on and where it exactly fails. What would be required is the exact call flow scenario the setup has to fulfill and a way to produce test calls. Very helpful could also be to have access to network sniffing on the IP side (tcpdump/wireshark kind of setup).
