IPAD GPS Data Collection

Hi everyone, this project has been relisted in more detail as we has so far failed to find anyone suitable to undertake the project. There will be SIGNIFICANT ongoing opportunites for anyone who undertakes this project. This is just the very first step of many. A detailed requirments document is currently being prepared but in the interim here is a basic description. This project consists of the software development and associated graphics for the user interface. Please feel free to ask any questions, I am a software engineer myself so should be able to answer in sufficient detail. Basic Overview Fundamentally the software will consist of a UI that contains a map and a waypoint button. This software will allow someone to drive down a road and collect road condition information by pushing a waypoint button. When a waypoint button is pushed an attribute screen will be presented and the user will fill in the attributes - they may also associate a photo (taken by the camera) with the waypoint. When the waypoint is complete a point will be placed on the MAP. The user may also select an existing waypoint on the map and edit the attributes. Existing waypoints may also be deleted. Fundamentally the software will consist of a UI that contains a map and a waypoint button. GIS Map The Map will be based on a GIS engine (i.e. Arcgis ios or similiar) and will contain at least four layers. - a bing aerial map map - a bing street map - a SHP file depeciting the underlying road network - the layer that will contain the waypoint points. Waypoint Attributes The attributes and attribute types for a waypoint layer will be determined by a text file or something similiar. This will allow the user to create different attribute sets for different types of inspections. The attribute types that will be required are : - free text - number - drop down list - a nested drop down list (this will present different options depending on what you select - the nest will also be defined in the text file) - a photo capture Data Export The waypoints layer (as well as a spreadsheet containing all the attributes) will be exported off the machine by email.
