Illustrated Children’s Books Illustrator with Solid Amazon KDP Experience I am looking for an experienced illustrator who specializes in creating illustrations for children's books. The ideal candidate must have solid experience working with Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) and be familiar with their specific requirements, sizes and guidelines for the three option of e-book, Soft and hard back. Support also needed by the author in uploading. Style of Illustration: - The illustrations should be in a cartoon style, appealing to children in the age range 3 to 7. - The use of bright colors and playful characters is preferred. - An example layout is available on Amazon Publishing already for our first sample book. Specific Story or Concept: - The client has a specific story or concept in mind for each books all text is ready to be added by the illustrator, please ensure this is covered in the quotation provided. - The illustrator will be provided with the storyline and will need to bring it to life through their illustrations and to add the text to each image as per the example. - The ability to effectively take a client brief, capture the essence of the story and engage young readers is crucial. Number of Illustrations: - The project requires approximately 25 books, with an average of 20 illustrations per book. Although the first phase is for 13 books the 2nd phase of successful will be the trending 12 books. (Further books and work will be available subject to a congenial working relationship). - Over the course of the project (2 phases) The illustrator will need to create a total of around 500 illustrations all sized for the 3 print KDP print media mentioned (e-book, Soft and Hard back) - Attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce high-quality illustrations is essential. - ability to accurately price work and stick to agreed budget. Ideal Skills and Experience: - Proven experience in illustrating children's books, preferably with a portfolio showcasing previous works. - Strong proficiency in digital illustration software, such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop and ability to source and work with AI generated images. - Familiarity with Amazon KDP's image formatting requirements and ability to assist with the publishing end on KDP. - Flexible partnership approach where minor changes are made without a fuss.
