We have been doing this without RPie,sensor networking, making bridges (BT-WiFi,Zigbee-Wifi) we have designed our own board using ARM cortex M0 from TI and ST, Ras-Pi we are using for other purpose but of course they can be used for sensor network IOT.

Hi Ive gone through your requirements and though it is very general im sure you will explain in details later. As for the deliverables, what you're seeking may not need a raspberry pi as it is a more generic platform. Instead a custom designed hardware platform may be more suited to your purpose wherein actual interfaces to connect to various sensors and outputs exist. Such a system would be purpose built, lean, efficient and small and for all purposes can be considered similar to a raspberry pi except that it does not have the OS layer. For your requirements, i would design & fabricate the hardware as well as the firmware to go with your android/iOS app as a firm integration.

hi I have all experience you need for this job I use my linux distro on raspberry pi B+ this distro built from : busybox - qt4.8 embedded - nodejs last ver. - opencv 3.0 we make raspberry pi work as server and controlling its gpio from internet web side. we have ready make work in controlling field we ready design a simple voltage interface board to drive 12volt stepper motrors.
