Tips for the homebound

If you don’t listen, you are going to collapse. (This is from my personal experience) • Nutrition needs change when you are stationary. o For one thing, you need more dietary fiber when you are no longer active. • Finally, exercises for the stationary. o Upper body  Arms  Abdomen  Neck o Legs  Just because you can’t stand on them doesn't mean that they aren’t important. By not exercising them you are more prone to have blood clots and other circulatory problems. • This is not all of what I want to do my book my book to say My own suggestion for grocery shopping is to sit down beforehand and make out a meal plan and then get your grocery list written out. Make sure that you put in snacks. You need to find out from your local Senior Center if they do Meals on Wheels. for low income seniors and disabled. If they provide Meals on Wheels they should be free and you can get them seven days a week so you would have one at least one hot meal every day with milk. Smoothies are a good way to start the day. right now there's a celery craze going around. I've been using celery for 40 years both raw and in soups. Not everything is going to work for everybody. But the fact that you bought the book means you either want to help somebody else or help yourself, which is good. it's really hard to admit that your just slowing down and that you just can't walk the way you used to and that you need help with it. but you're not alone we've got a whole world out there of people that feel the same way you do. It's normal and natural to occasionally falling into feeling sorry for yourself. but if it lasts longer than a day or so I recommend going and getting psychological help. and follow the doctors requirements. Also, for food, contact your local food banks that's what they're there for. If you're homebound let your contact know and they can possibly bring you the food. Also, every spring at, least in New Mexico, when the farmers markets open you can get coupons to the farmers market where you buy one thing and you can buy the same thing you can get the same thing for free basically, at 2 for one. When shopping for fresh produce, Only buy what you can eat in the next day or so otherwise it's going to waste and I don't know about you but I hate throwing food away. Always keep track of the expiration dates on your canned goods and frozen goods.
