I'm in need of an expert who can lend a hand with the configuration commands of a particular open source package. Currently, I am utilizing a previous version on the same server/system and have had no issues with configuration. However, slight alterations cause the standard "configure" command to fail with the new version. Details follow: I have two relevant directories on this older system. The first is working with the standard git commands and "autoreconf -i", "configure", and "make". The updated package from git in a second directory runs "autoreconf -i" but then fails at and early point checking the compiler, even though the older version on the same system is fine.
