Build a website

This website can be seen as a platform which provides tourism guidance. It will only be accessible to students from Loughborough University. It would be easier to control the contents published by users and reduce the security risk by being only opened to Loughborough University’s students. Students will use their email account provided by the university to log in to the website, individual profiles will then be created automatically, with their information linked with students' portfolio, such as their name, gender, age, course and email address. This website will consists of four categories: Visa Application: A page will be dedicated to visa application guidance. The page consists All users will be able to click on to different options, divided by countries (US visa, Schengen visa, and Chinese visa) to check for the detailed requirements for applying for the corresponding visa. Travel Tips: For this page, we will need a wall for users to publish the articles of tourist destinations which they have been, filtered by county and city. Each user will also have the option of uploading a photo or a video. At the end each article, other users will have the option of writing comments. Travel Buddy: We need a platform which will match individuals that are going to the same destination. Users will be able to choose the gender, age, destination, size of group and nationality of the “buddy” which they will be travelling with. Users that are aligned with each other’s requirement and description will match automatically and provide them with contact information of the other parties. Items for sale or rent：The final category of the website will be used for users to sell or rent out their idle travelling items such as a sleeping bag or a torch. Users could upload photos, write a description, set a price for the product. A link is provided which will generate a private chat room to contact the seller for further information. Further requirements: 1. Photograph size: Maximum up to 1MB 2. Video size: Maximum 500MB 3. The website does not need to be very complicated, only needs to be able to complete the function described above 4. Further details can be discussed later on 5. This project should be completed and approved by the 2nd of November 2018. Reasonable postponement can be negotiated. Hours of work: 5 Hrs/Week Project Duration: 1 - 2 Weeks
