I have excellent people skills, and am conversational and honest. I currently manage the Twitter account for a client, and they are more than happy with my handling of the account. If you'd like, I can provide statistics of the account, and improvements brought about by me. My job there does not include messaging or interaction, but I'd be able to handle that well, too.
I am a polyglot, and speak in perfectly fluent English. I read widely in English, and my profession is writing - which I only practise in English. I also have multiple friends abroad, and my partner is from the USA. So, although I am not familiar with Canadian local slang (assuming your customers/target audience are Canadian people), there should be no other issues regarding language.
However, one foreseeable problem with that would be that if your customers are mostly from Canada or neighbouring countries, I might not always be able to reply to their messages/comments on time.
