Excel is not really a good solution to store data neither it is meant for that purpose, excel is a data processing tool not a data storage tool. MS Access is the correct choice for storing large quantum of data. MS Access is a database solution which can be used as a backend for data storage and for processing, data feeding, generation of reports Excel can be used as a frontend.
