Hello, we are a fast growing business and require a trainer to deliver a very basic coding course to a class of 30 children - ages 5 to 8 (kinder to year 2) in Sydney's Western Suburbs. You will have our staff support for first 2-3 classes as handover process.
It is an after-school environment (usually taking place in a school hall) - start time 3.10 pm, finish time 4.10 pm. The course will be run every Monday for 4 weeks from 29 July. The payment is for delivery of the 4 courses.
You need to have interest and energy to deal with enthusiastic kids who enjoy using a small remote control robot car to learn computer coding. Ages K-Year 6. They will learn how to program the robot's movement, steering, lights, sound and LED dot matrix.
A Certificate IV In Training is highly desired though not essential. For example you may have sports coaching experience with children. Teacher background of course highly desired, although this is a professional trainer job working for a small business (not structured school environment). An interest in technology is essential.
Computer coding knowledge also highly desired though not essential as learning for kids at this point is quite basic. See attached screenshots of software platforms they will be using - Crayon and Scratch.
All resources - curriculum, robots, tablets - are provided for you.
If successful, you will need to get your own Working with Children Check (about $100) from the Government.
