I am PhD in Comparative Literature, I have a Master degree in the same field and a Bachelor diploma in Philosophy. I published bot Fiction and Non-Fiction, both academic and non-academic articles in various journals. I know Photoshop and Illustrator as well as Procreate and Adobe Illustrator and other apps, being a Graphic Artist is my passion. I illustrate, create comics, vector images and paint both in digital and traditional media.

After reading my 30 pages long article about how the Divine Comedy stood as the main source of inspiration for the Japanese video game Devil May Cry creators, my MA Professor Dr. Stefan Borbely (UBB Cluj-Napoca) invited me to write a doctoral thesis under his guidance. I took a less common path for academic studies and chose to focus on how the narrative structure of Apocalypse/End of the world/Eschatology is treated in video games. I participated to conferences and published in CLCWeb, JCLAetc.

The present text focuses on the sources of inspiration underpinning the construction of the virtual game Silent Hill’s diegesis. This fragment mentions only transiently certain specific aspects related to computer games, prefiguring, rather, the conclusion of the work that finds a description of the virtual space behind the counter-cultural curtain of Silent Hill, following, surprisingly close, a philosophic direction reuniting the perspectives of Deleuze, Baudrillard and Vattimo.

In this article, I discussed the difficulties and problems of adapting classical literature to video games. Naturally, one can argue that classic literature texts will never be accurately translated into the video-game medium; that the result will always be a superficial imitation, a caricature, an artifact that deforms the meaning and purpose of the originals. But, can art or literature survive oblivion without adapting to the continuous cultural changes of society?
