GA-pathplanning algorithm

What I need or require:

*this is a university project

Trouble shooting + further development of an algorithm, which is essentially a path planning algorithm (genetic algorithm). The implementation is done in matlab R2009, using the optimtool (gatool). Another algorithm, which is very similar to this one, but using A*, is needed to be incorporated in optimtool. The end system will accept waypoint data, a start and a destination, and should calculate the best possible path (in the given time). A performance analysis needs to be done, comparing the two. Parallel computing toolbox might be necessary for this project.

*there is one detail which is fairly simple (which i will require), but details will be given on this once the job has been accepted.

What I already have versus what the provider will deliver:

working codes, needs optimization + a few bugs when run with optimtool. The provider must deliver working codes, and an analysis of a performance comparison between the two.

Other context/requirements that providers will need to know:

All coding needs to be done on matlab, using the optimtool

*all coding (working and partially working) which has been completed will be provided, with a more detailed job description.

Specific expertise/background that I am seeking:

scientific programmer, with extensive experience in Matlab. Preferably an Engineering postgrad etc.

Timeframe for delivery:

1-2weeks.
