We have a web site software that we need to duplicate so we can sell accounts to clients. We have a development site, and want to add a production site, and then clone the production site for the customers. We will enter a customers information in with their url, and then the system would set up the host account, add the DNS entry, and make their site active. The sites have a configuration file with some data and images that the user can modify. We would need a page for that.
To summarize, the software would have a button to publish the code in the development account to the production account, then from the production account, we would update all the customer accounts. Any new customer accounts would be cloned off the production account. All of the accounts are on the same server. We would want to use some kind of symbolic linking to route the images to a single folder so we don't have to duplicate our large image database into each account.
