Life Cycle Assessment of Grid Tied SHSs in Bangladesh with Respect to Conventional Sources

IJECS: International Journal of Electrical & Computer Sciences

Vol.12, No.5, pp.15-19 (2012) In this work life cycle assessment of grid-tied solar PV is studied to test their feasibility in Bangladesh, where grid is not sufficient to meet the demand. Economic performance of renewable and traditional power sources are compared in terms of NPV analysis. The result establish the findings that the choice between renewable or traditional power sources from an economic point of view depends on the demand of the customers and the power rating of the generators.

Designing of an Efficient Light Sensor Circuit for Competent Solar Home Systems in Bangladesh

Vol.12, No.6, pp.37-41 (2012) Stand-alone PV system is very popular in off-grid areas of Bangladesh. But recently the government is encouraging the use of solar electricity in urban areas too. Here, a light dependent switch is designed for the efficient use of solar systems. The light sensitive switch automatically charges the battery from power line after sunset if the battery is not fully charged. The design of the switch and its analysis is presented using Yenka and Orcad Pspice package.

Green Solution for the Current Energy Crisis in the Urban Areas of Bangladesh

Vol. 3, No. 1, pp 1-10, January 2013 The work is focused on alleviating the electricity scarcity of urban areas of Bangladesh with a green system where utility grid is inadequate. For this, a comparative analysis of performance and cost has been presented with different types of Solar Home Systems (SHSs). A relative study with the conventional sources has also been done including their environmental impact. For making the solution feasible, Feed In Tariff (FIT) has been recommended.
