We have web interface with many pages.
One dynamic page is generated by scrip and
represent different amount of channels and
different amount of events per channel.
All pages already optimized for view on mobile
and PC and not have any problems with different
fonts, scaling or different font size.
Page style was done with single hand written CSS file.
Same CSS file is used as style for all other pages.
Pages were written in HTML4-transitional.
Web interface have many pages which were written in compact
form without using any libraries - such as jquery, ajax
or something else like this.
Reason - we need it work fast over old fashion GPRS GSM link
in the areas where not exist 3G or LTE.
Task is to change SINGLE dynamic page with channels
and events from its current look into look with fixed
header which will allow to lock table header in place
and scroll rest data below it. Table header can be with
different amount of channels inside it - so its width
can be less then screen or more then screen width.
Horizontal scroll of header must be in sync with scroll
of table body (in case if it is not fit screen).
All this must be done with simple plain CSS, javascript,
without using of some classic libraries.
Page body is generated by script now.
Edit of script body is NOT required !
We just need html code which we will be able to insert
into script code for generation of final user page.
Current page with table have nice margins / shadows
on this page which make look on PC good. But at same
time such design waste some space on mobile screen.
So on negotiation with designer - we can remove such
styles on mobile, or to make new design for the page
with channels, which will be more strict, with less
design and it will start immediately under menu.
This question must be negotiated between us and
designer before start of work.
In ideal case top menu must be with float and
always visible on horizontal scroll of table
with large amount of channels. If it is hard
to implement - then this fact must be negotiated
with us.
To implement all this task we see it in such way:
1) We will save set of simple usual states of
dynamic page with different amount of channels
to allow designer see some set of possible cases
of this page as set of static pages (just for sample
needs)
2) We will give designer some other simple pages
which allow to show other pages which are using
current CSS. Reason - we want to keep single CSS
for all pages after job. So past work of designer
must not be killed or new designer must told us
what to change in past pages (sample in case if
top menu style will be changed). Normally we expect
to have it without changes on rest pages at all
but no any problems for us to install small
corrections on other pages. Required corrections
must be hinted by designer (if it will be really required).
3) We will give access to live device which will
allow to view current web interface in live mode,
change amount channels, change events.
Result of designer work - must be single html
page with single css, which represent our task
and allow us to port changes into code which
generate dynamic html page. Any changes in
script is NOT required - we will do it on our
side. Question just represent flexible sample
that will work correctly with different amount
of channels and events on any screen.
CSS and HTML code must be compact/hand-written.
Without using editors which generate non-need code.
All must be very minimalistic.
