Help optimize Mysql (MariaDB) on our server.

We have a php application that runs on MYSQL (MariaDB). Usually during peak times it brings our server down.
When we restart MYSQL then it fixes the issue and server is back up.
In the past we have optimized some areas of MySQL but i guess its not working as well as we thought.
The server uses Cpanel and Engintron (for Nginx).
Looking for someone who is good at server optimization for higher traffic to MYSQL (MariaDB)
