Need a module that changes the right content(article 1 area) without reloading the page. Most likely using ajax.
The left navigation should be generated by specific, selectable, categories so that it can be moderated in Joomla administration. The look is similar to a standard Joomla vertical menu category list.
The right content area will be the article plus an image from the " Intro Image" field that will always be the same size(300px X 450px) and aligned to the right.
Must be responsive: On handheld devices the menu should be on top, then the image for the article, then the article beneath.
