PC App - Simple database viewing & search

I have a database of 190,000 clients, each client file has about 40 fields ( Cust # , Name, Address, Services, etc)

I need a desktop installed PC program that I will sell to customers. ? The customer will be able to search the database by criteria and will be displayed a result of matching clients. ? The user can then print listings. I also want to be able to search by proximity of location. I have a seperate database which lists City/State/ZipCode/Lat/Long - All locations are USA. ?

This will be sold as commercial software, I will need all code as I will need to update the database 4 times per year. ? I need database and code to be encrypted so a user can't purchase the software & view the database files directly. I want an install program which will take user through a simple install process. ? I will need to implement product registration key , with multiple key types available ( some let software run forever, other keys would limit use to 365 days)

Some Requirements

1) License Keys be required at user install , multiple key types should be available which will determine how long program will function .

2) Data needs to be encrypted so user can not view data files directly

3) We will need to update client database 4 times annually and wish to do this ourself, make it easy to do this. Our client file comes to us in CSV file, we can handle importing this into a database.

4) Program should have small footprint and not use excess PC resources.

5) This should run on a PC without requiring any internet connection.

6) Users will have no ability or need to modify data records

-A big search form - should be as user friendly as possible.

-User can search by about 10 different fields Such as

(Account # , number of employees , etc)

-User can search by proximity - example - find all clients located within 50 miles of Chicago, IL?

Since there are almost 200,000 client records the speed of doing this proximity calculation is important. I would not want a total delay of more than 5 seconds to do the proximity search of all client records (if possible) I know there are multiple mehtods to do this.?

- Users should be able to proximity search by city/state or zipcode - all locations are USA.

- It would be great for city request to auto-complete from the city database. -- state results could autocomlete or have a auto-complete dropdown.

-User can determine number of results to display

- Whenever there is a delay , or searching records - user should see an "hourglass" or other animated visual + "Processing Records" message.

Results Screen

-User should be able to scroll through results screen which will show several fields of clients (Name - Phone - Etc)?

-If user wants to view a client record in detail the user should be able to click on that record to get a new window which will display a complete record of that client (About 40 fields) The user should then be able to print the detailed client record

- User should be able to have a button to click to "MODIFY SEARCH" - which would take them back to the main screen with the original search request form filled.

-User should be able to click a button for "NEW SEARCH" - take them to main page with all fields blank

-User should be able to print all results, a "printer setup" window should appear allowing user to select printer.

-All button functions should also have CNTRL + Keyboard functions ( Hit CTRL + P to print, etc)

- User should be able to export results via CSV File ( I AM CURIOUS HOW MUCH COST TO ADD THIS FUNCTION, This function would also not be available on every version of software, we should also be able to make versions of the software which limit the number of records which could be exported at any time.)

Help / About Screen

I will provide wording - just basic "about" and limited FAQ (1 page)

The app. should be as user friendly as possible - for example this means for printing allowing cntrl+p as well as a "printer" icon & a "Print" option in the main menu bar.
