  One potential issue is going to be near the bottom. As you can see from the red line version, there's going to be some wrap around with the "wings" of the symbol in the gold area. It may be helpful to have a somewhat different design, because I don't think the wings will wrap properly.
  
  For example, the blade edge will have parts of two wings on it. On the other blade edge, it will merely be blocked gold with no wings in it. The two blade edges should be symmetrical.
