Revamp Logo and Website

We started out with a simple blogger platform site (haplessgeek.blogspot.com) a long time ago. The site is about technology, automobiles and movies. We are expanding into travel and food as well and will be producing our own content over time. The current thought in our minds is the following:

1. Logo Design: Revamp the haplessgeek logo. It should encompass the spirit of the site. If you read a few of the articles/posts, we think it would give you an idea of the playful nature of the posts while trying to convey the information. It will also give a sense of the writing style and what the site is all about. We have also attached a sample logo which we liked and is to be for inspiration and direction. WE CANNOT USE THE ATTACHED LOGO because it belongs to someone else.

2. Site Layout and Theme Design: Revamp the layout and color scheme of the site. The logo and color design of the site should gel well together. You will notice a lot of broken links, especially for the navigation and ad placements. The site maintenance was being done as a second job and over time just got neglected. We are planning to move to WordPress. So whatever layout or site design is being developed, it should be compatible with WordPress. And mobile friendly as well even though WordPress has the inbuilt feature. Basically a WordPress theme. This brings us to point 3.

3. Ongoing Maintenance: We could also use someone who would be willing to work on this on an ongoing basis. We would work on the content, and the webmaster/developer would be the one who would be in charge of updating the site etc.

4. Design Language: The design language we have in our minds is modern, something that encompasses the crux of the site. We would love to see a few options on the design language before proceeding with the complete package. Theverge.com is kind of an inspiration for the site design. We want it to be done just right.
