I am looking for a skilled designer to create a watermark/logo that will be used as an overlay when my technology is used on a webpage.

Requirements:
- The purpose of the watermark/logo is branding, so it should effectively represent my brand and create a visual association with my technology
- The name of the product is Squigl. Think of Squigl as a fun doodle like icon that has the following attributes:

1. It should be monocolor or shades of a single color.
2. The watermark/logo should have a transparent background, allowing it to be easily overlayed onto my webpage without obstructing the content.
3. Option: Anthropomorphized? Possibly, but not something like "clippy" (it is a possible design path)
4. Use some combo of S or Sq as part of the logo. (If you don't know the word, look it up)
5. Style: very important. I included a zip with a large number of "Squigl's" (image-samples.zip) . The design should match the stroke and style of Squigl drawings.
6. It should be visually appealing and capture the essence of my brand.

I may select several designs from this contest. Originality is important.

-Do you have attention to details? Let's test it. When you submit your first entry, leave me a message telling me your favorite corporate logo and WHY it is your favorite.

If you follow my rules I will help you with the design. If you break my rules (they are there to keep project moving forward) it is very rude.

Font vs Hand drawn; Hand drawn has imperfections and character. Designs are close, but look too close to font and lacking character. Balance easy to read with hand drawn character.

The cap should be the shape at squiglit.com. The cap should also be part of the icon

idea: Try including the marker cap also in the SQ ! Showing the marker with cap off implies action.

On mouse over when using the icon, the marker will draw the uigl and the cap will go on top of the i

Marker and marker cap. Should be more realistic. The word "squigl" is drawn by the marker and has a style. The marker needs to be leaning towards more realistic so it is easy to distinguish

don't do shading or small elements. Large strokes matching the SVG examples. Stay away from tiny/complex elements in the design

The front (SQ) part of the logo must be nearly square, so no design elements that are significantly out of the core square area.

The best rated designs are SIMPLE. Also marker is SIMPLE. Complex tiny accent lines do not scale.

Stroke thickness of lines: Look at sample .SVG's, I am rejecting entries that are too thick or too thin. The style must match

Color: Black on white only

Dry marker: Don't use solid black. Make it look like a dry marker, not a pen or pencil

Simple: Keep it simple, no fancy "S". Ask yourself: would a Fortune 500 use this style? If not, adjust

SQ vs Squigl: again, the "SQ" will be used as an overlay on a web page. The rest will animate on mouse over. So ask yourself: "How will it look if the "uigl" is animated"?

Print vs Cursive: I am only seeing print, not Cursive, for animation the "UIGL" MAY look better as cursive as it will flow better when animated.

Summary: Read if you want to win

-DO NOT put design on stationary, walls, with lighting, etc. Black on white only. These will be rejected
-Make it SIMPLE: No fancy tiny lines, should be easy to read
-Memorable: No stock fonts. They will be rejected
-Unique: hand drawn style, match .SVG line stroke from .ZIP file

The S uppercase, quigl lowercase

The Sq will stand alone as an icon and the "uigl" will appear on mouse over. It need to work as icon and logo

Dry marker: Try to work into the design. Better at front, maybe as straight line of "q". This will lend itself to a future animation where the dry marker comes out of the q and draws the "uigl"

To work with the drawing/animation future consider that text is cursive vs print.

Please follow the above, otherwise you will get instant rejection and waste both or time.

IT needs to be UNIQUE, regular cursive text is NOT memorable. Idea: work in a white marker somewhere into the text? Possibility...

I am thinking the the SQ/Sq will appear on a web page and on mouse over will show the rest, but animated. Keep this in mind when designing. So Sq and uigl should work alone (Sq) and together (Squigl)

There is NO S at the end of Squigl. It shows me you are only copying someone else who does not read

-rejecting all designs on rendered/no white background and fake stationary backgrounds. It detracts from the design. Show it on white background or don't submit it
-rejecting all designs more than one color (read directions)
-this is a text logo, maybe some trailing design after, but rejecting all designs with feathers, squares or random stuff I did not ask for.
