I am looking to create a simple and striking logo for a fiction publishing and film production brand. The project should also include distinctive lettering for the company name that can be used in promotion.

REQUIRED COMPONENTS FOR A WINNING ENTRY:
--A tin soldier brand logo
--Theme-matching lettering of: "Tin Soldier Press"

GUIDELINES FOR THE LOGO LOOK AND FEEL:
--The logo should resemble a "toy soldier", also known as a "green army man". See examples here: https://www.smithersofstamford.com/previous-collections/tin-soldiers.html
--The color palette I'm looking for is either (1) Black, White, Grey, Silver/metallic, and/or Red; OR (2) Red, White, Blue, Black, and/or Silver/Metallic. Not all colors need to be included, but I am definitely interested in a bold pattern that makes use of red for sure.
--The soldier should be American; I am looking for a World War 2 soldier, however a really good design representing a different era and war may be considered. --The actual soldier character need not be extremely detailed--it is a brand logo, so stylistic choices like a silhouette for example will be considered.
--The pose of the soldier should be strong and heroic.

What the company does: Promotes self published authors and self-publishes fiction content. Produces independent films and screenplays.

Themes of the logo: Honoring veterans that defend our liberties; Sacrifice of the rank-and-file soldier; Strength; Patriotism; Selflessness; courage.

Attention all contestants: Above all, SIMPLICITY. While many of your designs are very creative and look good, they are often too complex. Any Tin Soldier logo must be simple enough to fit into emblems on hats, wristbands, necklaces, etc. Intricate designs don't fit easily as logos and are hard to see from a distance. Here is an example of a very distinctive but SIMPLE desgin:

This is what I'm looking for--a SIMPLE yet distinctive Tin Soldier emblem. Forget about incorporating the print into the logo--I'm looking for a logo, the print is secondary. If I like your tin soldier and you win the contest, you can add the lettering to the final design.

Simple and distinctive TIN SOLDIER emblem design. It should stand out in thumbnail, be easy to make variations on, and not be overly complex.
Any lettering is secondary. The goal of this contest is to produce a symbol.

Update: Hey all, I'm loving all the submissions. However, the modern rifles are a little more aggressive than I'm looking for. If you are going to incorporate rifles, I'd prefer to see something more along the lines of the WWII standard issue M1 Garand. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M1_Garand

  The most important thing is a soldier emblem design. The lettering should match the style of that design. That said, no the lettering doesn't need to be hand written.
