I have worked as a stress engineer in the aeronautical, space and automotive industries for over 25 years with a focus on structural integrity, crashworthiness and occupant safety (aircraft and automotive). My experience includes work as a Compliance Verification Engineer for Stress (CVE) per EASA regulations as well as demonstrating compliance against FAA airworthiness requirements.
To underpin aspects of my experience I have also completed FAA courses in Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis (Safarian) and Dynamic Impact Test Procedures (FAA CAMI).
Regarding structural analysis, I am very experienced in Nastran and LS-DYNA but have used other multi-physics and specialist analysis packages (e.g. PAM-CRASH, NASGRO, SIGFIT). Pre/post experience is predominantly in Patran, Hypermesh, Oasys (PRIMER, T/HIS, D3PLOT) and FEMAP. Hourly rate and quotes generally include the license fee for software products as required.
I also support all manner of industry and fields that benefit from physics simulation, visualization, 3D animation and rendering.
I have a good number of associated software/IT skills and am used to linking these up to facilitate custom workflows. E.g. programming in Fortran or C++ for data conversion between software environments not designed to talk to each other.
I am generally versatile and good at integrating existing experience into new areas.
