I currently have a Artec 3D scanner with repeatable accuracy down to 0.001". I believe this would be a perfect tool for this task. I have plenty of experience scanning plastic injection molded pieces for reverse engineering. I will also be able to export these files as an STL file, or any other file type that is supported by SolidWorks.
