Data analysis project

Data Analysis Project You will design a study which will ask you to propose a research question, conduct a literature review of the research topic, collect data, analyze it, write up a research report, and present it as a paper. You will want to choose a project that is easy to collect data on (you should be collect data in one or two weeks), that you can analyze (think quantitative data), that you think might be fun, and that has some research done about the topic. Make sure participants are 18 years of age or older. Within your data analysis project, you will read and analyze one news article, and one empirical peer reviewed journal article related to major statistical/methodological concepts. Start now by finding information related to a topic you can use for your project paper. Think of a topic that will be simple and easy to collect data on, that you can find research information on, and you think will be fun to do. For example, you can design a study to test for significant differences in memory levels between males and females with a simple ten item computer experiment (thus, your topic for research would be memory). Or you can do a paper on quality control and test if there really is an average of 16 ounces (as labeled on the package) of water in Dasani water bottles (your topic for research would be quality control). Be sure your participants are 18 years of age or older and that you do not have to spend a lot of money to complete the project (I prefer that you do not have to spend any money). I also prefer that you use archival data for this project, or collect data on non-human subjects. This analysis will be in the introduction part of your paper and will be graded when your final project/paper is graded.
