My website has a big database of advertisements where there are approximately 500,000 ads. My website's SQL query is not being able to handle this huge database and few SQL queries are being executed very slowly. The website is hosted in a very good dedicated VPS, so hosting server is fine for the huge database but the website's SQL query need to be modified so that it can load and perform faster. My VPS >> "MySQL Slow Query" log showing few specific queries are taking too long and those queries are affecting other queries to be executed slowly!! I need you to fix this SQL query issue. my guess is, current SQL queries are not using proper "INDEX" & "SELECT" queries without limit! There are 3-6 queries i think (can be bit more, not sure!) which are loading slowly and making other queries load slowly and you will be fixing those in this project. After completing this project, i will need you to work on another few projects for me, so your bid should be with a reasonable price because of ongoing job! If you can't work on this project right away, please do not bid ! ! !

Hi Sounds like an interesting problem! Hopefully it can be solved by fixing the query, I should warn you though that it may be an underlying problem with the database design not being aligned to business requirements in which case some other remedial action may be needed to improve performance. I've got almost 20 years of database and SQL experience and have spent many an afternoon rewriting poorly performing queries! A couple of questions for you: Would you be able to send me one of the queries so I can see what I'd be dealing with? What scope is there for making changes to the database? E.g. New indexes and tables? Will I have access to the database itself? Or at least willI be sent the DDL for the tables and all associated indexes, primary and foreign keys. Thanks Sam
