Tag cloud generator

I need a Linux command-line tool that takes an array of word/weight pairs (from a text file), representing a tag cloud. The tool should then generate a visual tag cloud similar to those made by [login to view URL] and output to a PNG, JPG or GIF file. The cloud should support fonts and colour palettes specified in the text file. The layout should support tightly nested (but not touching) words, like Wordle -- text can not be placed purely with bounding boxes. It should also support text arrangements of horizontal, mostly horizontal, half and half, mostly vertical or vertical (see wordle for examples). Ideally I'd like this written in PHP so it can be included directly in my project, but any command-line tool that works on Linux will suffice. I'm happy to install any 3rd party tools required. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
