SXS drag racing - 2 lanes - a left lane / a right lane starting line push button to activate the process > on press makes the blue light blink indicating racers can stage. (INPUT 1) Each lane - with a startling line infrared beam (as an input) that is there to indicated when the competitor leaves. The beam broken is an indicator that the racer is ready - when the beam connects it means the racer left. Left lane (INPUT 2) / Right Lane (INPUT 3) Christmas tree (as its called in the sport) is a an array of lights on a self standing pole. Top bulb > BLUE -- that blinks (only after starting line button is activated (pushed once) (OUTPUT 1) Array of lights sequence -- top to bottom left lane Amber light > lights up solid (stays on) while the left lane infrared is blocked - indicating a racer is staged (OUTPUT 2) right lane Amber light > lights up solid (stays on) while the left lane infrared is blocked - indicating a racer is staged (OUTPUT 3) a randomized timer between .5 seconds & 2.0 seconds initiates the following light pattern Amber light (OUTPUT 4) > light comes on for .5 seconds Amber light (OUTPUT 5) > light comes on for .5 seconds >> .5 seconds after OUTPUT 4 light goes off Amber light (OUTPUT 6) > light comes on for .5 seconds >> .5 seconds after OUTPUT 5 light goes off Green Light (OUTPUT 7) > light comes on for 3 seconds >> .5 seconds after OUTPUT 6 light goes off Left Red Light (OUTPUT 8) >> comes on -- flashing for 5 seconds ONLY if INPUT 2 is activated before the green light (OUTPUT 7) is lite Right Red Light (OUTPUT 9) >> comes on -- flashing for 5 seconds ONLY if INPUT 2 is activated before the green light (OUTPUT 7) is lite RULE > if both left and right lanes leave before green light (OUTPUT 7) is lit -- which ever did first is only red light activated finish line left lane infrared beam (INPUT 4) finish line right lane infrared beam (INPUT 5) finish line right lane WIN light (OUTPUT 10) finish line left lane WIN light (OUTPUT 11) which ever of INPUT 4 - or INPUT 5 is switched first indicates winner -- -- if either activated the red light the other WIN light goes on - if both did then who ever did 2nd activates WIN light Basic explanation of the process between two competitors Button pushed by starting line official > blue light blinks (indicates racers can stage - which is process of moving vehicle in lanes and break the beam left lane infrared broken > left lane amber light turns on >> indicating the racer is staged right lane infrared broken > right lane amber light turns on >> indicating the racer is staged when both left and right lane amber lights are lite -- randomized timer starts tree count activation of sequence after green light is on - racers take off -- first one to break the finish line infrared (without red lighting) wins - and win light comes on.
