Consider the following scenario. There are two users Adam and Bob. Both are together on vacation in a foreign country. Both of them have their mobile with them (Adam uses an iPhone, Bob an Android device), but none of them has an active internet connection due to high roaming fees. Now Adam and Bob accidently loose each other on that trip. Sure they could call each other, but that would be expensive. It would be easier if they would have an app, that would point to each other. So here is what I need:
I want an mobile app that runs on both Adams and Bobs mobile which is able to exchange GPS coordinates via SMS (the receiving of the SMS containing the GPS coordinates should be hidden from the user if possible). The receiving side of the application should read the coordinates, compare them to its own location and then display an arrow pointing to the received GPS coordinates including the distance (see attached image for an example).
The application should somehow ensure that costs created by SMS should be as low as possible. I dont want an app that sends GPS coordinates every 5mins or so automatically. The best case would be if one user can send some form of solicitation via SMS and then can receive automagically the coordinates of his friend.
