Hi, I have over 3 years experience working with Unity and I have experience serializing data using multiple methods in Unity (json, xml and more). Adding a save game feature involves serializing the data the represents the state of the game and implementing loading that can restore that state from the data. To complexity of this will depend strongly on how the code is structured and how easy it will be to implement loading with the current way the scene is loaded. It's impossible to say how big of a task this is without seeing the app and the code. As for the other things, I'll need more details about what to fix with the lighting, or even how the lighting is being handled and what the issue is with the controls.
