I have tasks involved in genetic algorithm and ECJ
involves experimenting with genetic programming on a selection of standard benchmarking problems. You will be using the widely used software package ECJ to do this. The learning outcomes are: (1) to gain experience of using a standard GP system, (2) to understand how design choices, such as the function set and the solution representation, affect the performance and search behaviour of GP, and (3) more generally, to gain a better understanding of GP and the issues faced when applying it to problems in practice.
What you are asked to do: • Familiarise yourself with ECJ and its GP facilities. • Investigate how various design choices affect the behaviour of GP. • Discuss your findings with reference to the genetic programming literature. • Explain, of up to a maximum of 5 pages, describing what you have learnt.
