A Socially Landscaped Shopping Cart

This will be unique in that the theme will be a mix of many sites concepts including facebook; it’s idea is to sell product but with a gimmick, and in a social environment. Therefore the concept will be centered around an ecommerce site but with a social twist. Therefore I am not sure if we should build the site around a shopping cart type of backend platform (such as Megento), or a social software platform (such as Drupal). I do not want to give away granular details until we have decided on a company, but I will tell you we are clothing manufacturers, and two of the sites that have had a lot of influence on the concept are: Contest: [login to view URL] Store Ownership: [login to view URL] The social aspect will consist of friends lists, and item/people comments wall. I will have a full scope document written and submitted to the right company for the job only after the company is chosen. We will only consider companies with strong English speaking and writing skills. We cannot conduct this project via email and Skype chat only and with someone that we cannot understand or does not understand us. Last thing I want to say, because I have placed the dollar amount where I have, does not mean go crazy with or rely on the bidding. We set the bidding price purposely to attract high quality companies but the job is not necessarily commensurate with that price. Although there is a set budget that will not be breached, the exact price will not be known until the scope can finally be released to the winning company and after it has been reviewed and discussed by us and the winning company. At that point, the pricing will be up for negotiation. It will need to be understood that the payment be broken among at least 4-5 milestone objectives. We expect a quality site in a professional and timely manner from this build and will not settle for anything less. If you are simply bidding because of the bid amount, please do not bid. If you have never been involved in or only “think” you can handle this, please do not bid. If your English is bad, do not bid as one of the first things I will judge you on is your English! FYI - You will be judged not only by professional portfolio, but also by your comments and suggestions you offer on how this should be done and what platform should be used, not simply comments like "We can do it"!
