Website Graphics

I am currently working on my website and have finally decided on what my company logo should be. However, I'm a software developer, not a graphic designer. I've chosen the good ol' cliche dragon to be my company logo and would like to have it sit in a way that forms a J off of the symbol for infinity. A good example of the dragon would be the one provided by Font Awesome at this link ([login to view URL]). The symbol for infinity wouldn't be closed all the way since the idea of perpetual motion is still purely conceptual and may remain that way for a long time. I'll also need an animated version of the dragon that only runs once. This is where I am unsure as to how to approach the task. I've been told this can be done with SVG (as can the logo), but that it will require CSS and Javascript. Working with SVG in these is outside of my expertise unfortunately so I'll need help with that. I would expect that if any code and styles have to be written that they are well documented and are clean and concise. I will probably refactor them later to meet my code standards. The idea for the animation is to fly in from one side, perform a loop that forms the symbol for infinity, then fly to the top of the page where the dragon will downscale into the logo. I will need help figuring out the best placement for handling multi-platforms (desktop, mobile, etc) when taking this perching into account. This also means I'll need to know the exact length of time in milliseconds that the animation takes to complete. This will allow me to perform other animations once the initial animation is completed (for example, fading in the content of the page). I expect this to be a complex task, and I would like to stick with a minimal design. Currently, my website has a background color of #eee. The dragon should be no darker than #333. This will prevent harsh colors from ruining the eyes of viewers. I would also like to use the static logo later for alerts such as maintenance windows, errors, messages, etc. This means that I'll want to change the color from #333 to #f33, #fc3, or #5c7, or even #57c respectively. This is why I believe an SVG will be the way to go. I will give full credit on my website for the creation of both pieces, however I will own the content and copyrights 100%. This means the logo and the animation are both my property to be used as I see fit, once the project is complete and paid for.
