Hello, I am an amateur webdesigner and started building my own website about 4 months ago. Now, I am pretty much finished with the main design and most of the content. As I am not a professional designer with not a long experience, I started facing some difficulties now. Details: CMS: Wordpress Template: X Theme Web design: minimalistic/clear/modern Project/Organization description: We are organizing medical internship programs for medical students from around the world in 4 different countries so far. On our website, we offer descriptions about the various medical programs and destinations to choose from. Once students have chosen their type of program and their favourite destination, they have to fill out an online application form. We like to have a blog/news section as well, where recent news/student reports/new programs will be displayed. We are thinking of an login area for interested students as well. I am looking for the following improvements: For any recommendations on better layout/design/set up options/ideas I am very open. Functionality: 1. Speed up the page 2. SEO optimization 3. Responsive on all screens/tablets/mobils 4. Apply/contact form 5. Check/sort/correct code 6. Color/size/style typography - Do you have any styling/clarity suggestions? 7. Colors/borders/shadows for the sections/background/boxes - Do you have any styling/clarity suggestions? 8. Gallery - Maybe a carousel with lightbox function? 11. Service - Any suggestions for the layout of the Rates table? 12. Miscellaneous - Skype button - program dates (enddate has to be after start date) in the “application form” - images (zoom/grow) effect when hover. - Top and bottom shadow professionalize? In future, there will be more programs/destinations added, so it would be very necessary to be able to add/maintain content/images by my self after improving/updating my site.
