Alex Jordan and I grew up in a small town of Foster in United States of America (USA), living in adjacent houses. Our parents were working as elementary school teachers and had known each other since their college days. Since birth, Alex’s and my lives were entwined, almost like identical twins. We were born on Christmas day with only two hours apart. Since then, we were inseparable – as playmates, confidantes and study partners. We do almost everything together, even during babysitting sessions.
As the only child in Smith family, I got all my love and attention from my parents, always having whatever I desired. However, I had difficulties expressing my inner thoughts to them. I somehow felt closer to Alex than my parents. No matter how I felt or what troubles I encountered, I would always turn to Alex for help first. This cycle had been going on since birth, until one day I realized my feelings for Alex were not that simple.
When we were two, the Jordan family welcomed their youngest daughter, Alice. Being the oldest child and only son, Alex was sensible to understand that he held responsible in taking care of his younger sister whenever his parents were not around.
