Write an OCR (or similar) application that can process marked tests into Excel

We need someone to write an OCR (or similar) application that can scan marked tests. There would need to be two parts (1) printable pages in a format suitable for the OCR process and (2) an Excel spreadsheet that will present the information gathered. The written papers, spelling test, would be marked by a teacher and the OCR/Excel program would collect the errors the children have made. We imagine that the OCR printable pages will: -Have space for children's names, class and student ID number (7 digits). -Have the numbers 1-20 in two columns per page. Ideally, we would like the lines for the 20 words to be broken up into four shaded areas (e.g. 1-5 no shading, 6-10 shaded background, 11-15 shaded, 16-20 with no background shading). Next to each number there will need to be a line for the children to write the words on and two boxes next to each line for the teachers to colour 'correct' or 'incorrect'. -The spelling tests will be marked by the teacher. The OCR process will need to identify the student ID number and the incorrect words. -While we want 20 words to be tested on each paper test we want 1000 words to be tested all up. Therefore, there will need to be 50 paper tests (See Further Notes below, perhaps this can be reduced). We need the Excel spreadsheet page/s to: -present each child's name, class and ID number with their incorrect words (one word per cell with no blank cells) from all of the 1000 words. -be able to change the bank of 1000 words from one year to another. -be able to collect data from 400 students. Further Notes: -The paper tests could be double sided so that there can be 20 words tested on each side, equally 40 words per test. This would mean that only 25 tests papers would need to be created. -Perhaps it is best if the student name, number and class is pre-entered on the children’s paper test using Mail Merge (for example, if the OCR software could read this. Or we could use a system as per your suggestion so that the OCR program can recognise each child’s name, test and errors. QR codes, student code, … This is up to you. -We would need to purpose/download OCR software (?). Please make your recommendations. -We need to be able to edit the Excel spreadsheet in the future. Therefore, no pages can be locked. -In the future we may wish to increase the word bank up to 2000 words. We would employ you to do this also then if needed.
