Hello, Before you go down this road, are you sure such a techie approach is good fit for you? For a start there isn't any VBS. It's VBA. These are different. Randy's general idea is straightforward but under the covers is a little tricky, especially if you're not clear on basic concepts; You can get rid of errors now but you're likely to have more in the future; You might end up with unexpected data. Perhaps most importantly, what exactly is useful for you with this approach? Imagine that you'd like to share a workbook with a colleague. If your colleague opens this Excel file, the file itself is locked. You can't both change it at the same time. This isn't what Randy solved. Instead you each have a copy of your own file. Or you'd like underlying data to be shared. This is Randy's approach - there's a third, separate, file with data. This eases things but doesn't solve them all. Most obviously, the file locking issue is still relevant so you could overwrite each other's changes and thus lose data. Shoe-horning this sort of thing into Excel is why code is needed but why not just use a database and have no code at all? Randy's example is a table of addresses. Stick these addresses in Access and multiple people could read and update them at the same time with no code. I'd suggest you take a step back and think about what want you want to achieve. While technically neat in some senses, it's unlikely this is the best approach for you.
