I need someone with a strong english language background, who also knows at least one european language, to make a list of 500 words and phrases that would cover all of what would be needed and NECESSARY for everyday communications, arranged in categories. This is for someone who does not know the basics of the language but has to communicate somehow when thrown into a new country. So stick to what is NECESSARY AND IMPORTANT , not fancy phrases on how to order fancy wine in a fancy restaurant. Preference for words / phrases that are 'building blocks' that be mixed and matched to make oneself understood, instead of being silent and mute. Think of the words that little kids learn as they grow up, think SIMPLE, don't get carried away with unnecessary complexities or irrelevant words like 'caterpillar' or 'zebra'.
